For more than 15 years ADVANTAGE RANCH, LLC, Center for Equine Interactive Concepts (the ReSource division) has produced professional development internships and continuing education courses for persons wishing to work in the horse industry. Our graduates have worked in a number of competitive disciplines and therapeutic riding programs in Florida, Washington state, Kansas, Texas, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Louisiana, California and Utah.

The 30 DAY IMMERSION in Professional Development™ course is an intensive live-in experience offering more than 225 hours of instruction, practicum and team building activities designed to make you attractive to future employers. Registration is limited to 6 participants in each course. The faculty to student ratio is 1:1.5.

The 30 DAY IMMERSION in Professional Development™ course harnesses the power of the 70/20/10 learning concept and provides a doorway through which students wishing to develop skill sets and earn the sought after recommendation for a job can explore their dreams and vision. The intention of the course is to have the student know with total clarity whether or not they wish to work in the horse industry by the end of the course. The demands of the horse industry are tough: long hours, challenging living situations, total commitment to the animals, extraordinary work ethos. This course is a mirror of all these real life circumstances. Learning to manage your state of being and maintaining your professionalism when faced with these difficult circumstances is the primary focus of the course.


Students will participate in:
  • 2 hours of Orientation and Skills Assessment upon entering the program
  • 3 hours of analysis and training in the DISC model of Human Behavior Assessment
  • 16 hours of Creating a State of Being through an introduction to Yoga and Aikido
  • 35 hours of instruction in Horse Husbandry and Barn Management
    • Safety in the Barn and Safe Handling of the Horses
    • Feeds & Feeding, and Hydration
    • General Horse Health and First Aid
    • Premium Stall Mucking Skills
    • Grooming and Detailing the Show Horse
    • Clipping and Stable Braids
    • Horse Clothing, Wraps, and Protection Boots
    • Basic Exercise for the Horse: Turn Out, Free Ex, and introduction to Löngeing
    • Keeping the Barn Clean, Organized and Workable

  • 12 hours of Showmanship skills development: "Riding from the Ground"

  • 20 hours of Classroom Explorations through lecture and conversation in the areas of
    • Reputation and Occurring as a Professional
    • Cowboy Ethics: the Code of the West
    • Living and Working Together: Creating Workability
    • Breakdown and Breakthrough Technology
    • Theoretical Base: Nature and Training of the Horse
    • Theoretical Base: Elements of Learning to Ride
    • Professional Communications: Resumes and Job Hunt

  • 72 hour of practicum: each participant is responsible for the total care of 5 assigned horses
  • 16 hours Observation of Experts at Work in training and teaching
  • 48 hours of Team Building Activities
  • 3 hours Course Reflection and Faculty Recommendations upon completing the program






This program is like boot camp. It is rigorous. It is demanding.

Upon completion of The 30 DAY IMMERSION in Professional Development™ course graduates will have skills in being the sort of person in attitude, perspective, work ethic, and basic horse and horsemanship skills that a professional horse business wants on board! Successful graduates either qualify for placement assistance, or receive and invitation to ADVANTAGE ReSource Continuing Education and Internships program.
