Choose Your Spots FAQs
**How do I begin?**| The best way to begin is to think about what you want in a future partner. Do you like to trail ride or show? If you like showing, which discipline or classes do you enjoy the most? All of these things (and more) are what we can help you plan out in creating your dream foal. |
**How do I choose the right mare for my dream foal?**
The best way to find the right mare for your dream foal is to know what you want in your dream foal.
**Can I breed to any stallion I want?**
Not every stallion is included in our Choose Your Spots program, but we will make every effort to work with you.
**When can I come and visit my foal?**
We prefer for our Choose Your Spots clients to come during our Baby Weekends when we have set aside time to spend with you in helping you and your new bundle of joy get to know each other. You will receive an invitation to our Baby Weekends when you sign up with our program. If you need to come during any other time, advanced notice is necessary so that we can ensure we are available to meet with you.
**When can I take my foal home?**
At weaning, which is generally around five months of age. We are happy to board the weanlings for longer and continue their early training and development - please see our boarding page for more information on the options available.
**What training will my foal have when I take him/her home?**
At weaning, the foal will be eating oats, will be handled regurarly, sacked out, and be comfortable being turned out in small groups of other horses.
**What if I'd like my foal to have more training after he or she has been weaned?**
We offer a wide variety of training programs and would be happy to sit down and discuss your foal's future training at any time. Basic costs for the boarding and training of a horse can be found here.
**Will I get information about my new foal? And what about baby pictures?**
Involvement in the Choose Your Spots program will include receiving monthly updates on your chosen broodmare as she gets ready to foal, timely communication when the foal is born, as well as bi-weekly updates once the happy event has occurred. Of course, should any other pertinent information arise concerning the health and wellbeing of your foal, you will be notified as soon as possible.
