Delwyn A. Dyer has over forty years experience in developing and administering educational programs designed to improve the quality of life for families where they live, work, and play. The Dyer method for program development seeks input from individuals, government agencies and the educational community in determining needs. He then works with community based organizations, in either the public or private sector, to identify solutions and to provide services to meet these needs.

Dr. Dyer is widely regarded internationally as one of the top experts on volunteerism. His personal strengths in organizational development and administration together with excellent people management and problem solving skills are passed on through his writings, workshops, and consulting services. His is a solution focused orientation.

In the ADVANTAGE RANCH program Dr. Dyer provides expertise in non-profit management, Board development, volunteer recruitment and training, program development and implementation, fundraising and grant writing. He also provides support in networking with industry professionals and associations, government and social service agencies, and foundations.

Del and his wife Doris are devoted horse people. They have worked around horses all their lives; have a beautiful horse farm that is home to over 60 horses; and, have owned and operated a semi-public horse business (from which they are now retired) for over twenty years. The Dyer’s have spent many years encouraging the participating of children and young people with horses through the 4-H horse programs, the American Vaulting Association, and various breed association activities for youth. Dr. Dyer is a past president of the Virginia Horse Council, and is actively involved in the management of a number of equine associations.
